Tesla CEO Elon Musk (2014) - YouTube
Good one. Interesting bit, Tesla is now over 10,000 employees.
Wow those are some weird interview questions
Yes some of the initial questions about what he drinks and eats are silly but there were a lot of "introspective" questions (as Elon termed them) that I have never seen him asked before that provided some insight into his character.
I had heard he owned a '67 E Type but did not know about the Model T. Seems fitting.
I think I liked it mostly because it was a lot of unusual questions, even if some were a bit silly. I've heard the Tesla back story in a hundred different interviews.
I think those questions, while a bit weird, really give some perspective.
Yes, a, great find VG.
my favorite was when the guy asked "what exercise do you do for your work out? Run through the forest?"... Just with his accent it was pretty funny for some reason even though I don't think it was meant to be funny
Exactly, makes him more "human". I really liked the interview, very refreshing.
I also like that he often think twice and always give an answer, despite the usual hesitations he gives a lot to his interviewer.
Completely agree - it showed a new side that I have rarely seen. I actually thought we wouldn't do well with questions like that given some of his other interviews, but this showed a very human and relaxed side of him. Very cool and "likeable". He seemed comfortable and like he was genuinely enjoying the deeper personal questions.
I was going to die if he started whistling.
Posable Hyperloop project from LA to Vegas has me excited, Casinos help with funding combined with California & Nevada Legislators current love affair with Elon gives me hope.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.
Agreed, and thanks too. I really liked how this kicked him out of his "canned" answers to basic questions. We didn't really learn a lot about any of the companies and where they are going but it was refreshing to see him just chatting. The guy really works hard. We can get more information on the companies in some other interview.
They were 8,000 early summer. Better ramp up production to pay for those salaries!
Very nice to watch this interview. Thank you for posting it here.
Drive and fear.
Hyperloop from Los Angeles to Las Vegas would be great to begin with.
That was really interesting. Thanks for posting!
Really nice interview - thanx!
Was trying to give the interviews the benefit of the doubt, but, 'have you been to space' got me.
Great video though I dig seeing a bit into his normal life. He only had breakfast prepared for him about half the time!
As a news anchor/reporter myself, that was probably the most revealing and interesting interview with Elon I've seen. They do have one major advantage over most typical American TV broadcasts... Time! And almost all broadcasts are highly edited. The one lady was doing a bit too much chiming in and not letting him finish a thought. But both usually let the "dead air" ride, so that was a nice change.
You could see at one point Elon was getting emotional when talking about the NASA contract saving the company from bankruptcy in the LAST minute. I would have liked to hear more about that day. And he also talked about what people don't understand that he finds obvious. We can all guess what he meant but I would have liked to hear it. I'm assuming it was about how to help the planet and people through smart choices and avenues.
The final takeaway: I feel compelled to call my S85 a Tez-luh from now on as Elon made it obvious he wasn't saying it with an "S" sound. Ironic given the Model S
The proper Croatian pronunciation of Tesla is with a slight "z" sound. See Nikola Tesla pronunciation: How to pronounce Nikola Tesla in Serbian, Croatian
