Maybe suggest a Volvo XC90 plug in hybrid if the Volt is too small. Plenty of room for a 6'4" frame and it is real nice looking vehicle with possible self driving features too.

I would be glad to talk to him about driving a Model S in cold weather and taking 9 hours for a 4 hour trip, my actual experience. I could also share with him the last leg going 40 to 45 on the interstate with the heater off to make it to the supercharger, having 7.5 miles left on the vehicle and then the exit ramp to the supercharger (I could see it) was closed!
