Tesla CEO Elon Musk announces unexpected product unveiling Oct. 17th & Tesla Solar City Event Oct. 28

I have a Model S on delayed delivery due to my hope that perhaps either the MCU will be updated or there will be Autopilot 2.0. I am starting to think that any changes will likely not happen until next year, but this article this morning caught my attention.

Can new "product" mean something like a new autopilot hardware suite or similr upgrade to the Model S/X, or would it be something different entirely? Saying it is unexpected makes me think it isn't Autopilot or Powerwall or anything related to the Model S/X.

Damn Elon and his cryptic tweets!! :)

I would think that either AP 2.0 or the Model 3 reveal would be HUGE events worthy of more than a cryptic tweet and a conference call. This, it seems to me lends itself to something more like Spotify integration, though Elon's words, that it's "unexpected by most", seem to rule that specific possibility out.

I'm hoping for a follow-up tweet from EM that contains a photograph, like when the "D" event was announced.

Regrettably, when Elon decides to hang up the boots on Tesla - and go full-force on SpaceX - it will be so bittersweet.

What a family he has created. The last time I was this sad was when Cristiano Ronaldo transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United.

Elon, please stay a part of Tesla... forever.

Some thoughts:

1. Model 3 part two: Probably not - he would have just said so.
2. Tesla inverter, Powerwall v2, Powerpack v2, Tesla DC wall charger: Doesn't make sense to reveal them before the reveal on the 28th. Though, of these, I guess the Powerpack v2 would have least relevance to Solar City, so maaybe.
3. Autopilot v2: Maybe.
4. Solid snake supercharger: Maybe, but no reason to reveal it now, as it really only makes sense when combined with level 5 autonomy.
5. Model Y: Probably too soon, and I think there would be a bigger event.
6. Model 3 variant (hatchback/wagon): Could be Tesla's solution to the criticized trunk opening, so maybe.
7. Tesla Bus concept: Maybe.
8. Model X 5-seater: Timing fits, but not sure if it warrants a reveal. Probably my top contender.
9. 21-70-based pack for Model S/X: Maybe.
10. CCS charging adapter: Maybe.

Maaaaaybe the 100D is out a little sooner then expected (need to keep sales up).
Snake chargers for home would be epic but I think if we ever do see that product it will be in commercial installations before residential. (Taxi fleet type places).
CCS charging adaptor would be neat.
Just showing off the Tesla bus concept images with a little more information about it?
Don't expect AP2 at this time. Early next year more likely.

My bet is Model 3 manufacturing ramp moves up again, first 6 to be delivered before Dec 31, no additional deliveries until Q3 17.
