Unveiling Tesla at Delivery?

I have been watching tons and TONS of youtube delivery videos and the one thing I have noticed is that -- some customers get the whole car unveiling -- and others just walk in and see the car (don't even get the Hello ______ Welcome to the family sign)...

is there something you have to do or let them know?? how does this whole thing work?

any experiences at the Paramus, NJ facility?

My delivery was walking into the store, told them my name and I'm here to pick up, they person at the front desk said hold on while they go get someone from the delivery team, 2-3 mins later someone from the delivery team came out, greeted me and walked me to the car, went through the options, signed papers, got my gift package and I was on my way.

It seems to be related to how busy the delivery center is from what I've seen.

I took delivery in Costa Mesa, California which is the busiest delivery center second only to the factory at Freemont, California. The delivery experience was nice but I was one of 4 people taking delivery simultaneously. My delivery specialist was very nice and professional but I lost track of how many times he said something like "well let's finish up and get you on the road!" or "I'll let you mess around with this more because I'm sure you are ready to get out of here!" It gave me the impression that he was ready to have me leave so he could help the next person.

Overall, the car is what I paid for and that experience was (and continues to be) fantastic.

If it means a lot to you, I would request it. If you don't want to sound selfish, just tell them your making a gopro video or something for your friends/family and want to show them "the full Tesla delivery experience".

I think it's true that it depends on how busy the centre is. When we picked ours up we were the last normal collection slot of the day and arrived early (as you do - not because we were excited of course) evidently there wasn't anyone before us so the car was under a cover and had the welcome notice etc so we got the treatment but at Gatwick there is only one place to put a car for the big reveal, so can imagine if busy you're in the car park, quick 'this is how' and off you go.
It was nice to have the big reveal my wife videod it and my 4 year-old son enjoyed helping to pull the cover off etc but it's the car that's important
