You'll be able to request the update (whenever we get the update enabling the request update feature) - but did Musk say Tesla will actually send the update to the car?

Would the request initiate the download, which is the case for everybody else - smartphones, computers, software updates, ...?

Or would it just move you closer to the front of the download queue?

No details, which means this is just a big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ until we have the update for updates in hand. All we have right now is Elon's tweet:

"We will add a feature to allow request of latest software version"
