Upcoming major update ?

I know we don’t have any firm date when this is supposed to happen; and anything Musk tweets should be taken as hard and fast.

But there is a major update coming. But when do we think it might actually hit? And what evidence to we have to support it?

Being 6 versions behind myself with a car that’s not even 3 months old it seems my best hold out is the next major release.

Yes, there will be software updates coming. Some will be major and some will be minor. As for evidence this will happen: they've done so in the past and there's no indication it won't continue to happen in the future. Also, Tesla doesn't preannounce when future updates will be coming out or what they will contain.

Unless I’m misspeaking I thought Musk had mentioned an upcoming major foundational rewrite to the AI sometime in the foreseeable future.

He said it was nearly complete. I suspect we may not see it until after the April “Tesla Talk” from the Buffalo factory.
