Update fails while moving from 2018.16 to 2018.16.x

  • I got an update notification 3 days ago to go from 2018.16 to 2018.16.x, don't know which number exactly yet.
  • The update failed with the dash message " Software update required: Contact Tesla Service".
  • Called Tesla service, they re-pushed an update to my car today, it failed again with the same message.
  • The Tesla reps say coming in to the service center is unnecessary and that they'll debug the issue remotely.
  1. Has anyone experienced this issue before?
  2. How long does it take to upgrade the software at the SC?
