This morning, Tesla posted a reaction to the rating. We engineered Model X to be the safest SUV ever, and today, the...

why would the model S be safer than the model x? would seem that a larger heavier car would be better in an accident?

    Tops every category and sub-category.

It will be nice if a moderator can update the title to reflect that

This is the main reason (hope) for why we bought the MX.
It's good to know the 'promise' came true and I feel better about the cost/expense (which is not a specific value that you can easily attach to how much it is worth to you)

I'd rather the EuroNCAP ratings, they do a more thorough test and report.

Couldn't find video of the test of hitting a pedestrian or the scores for it?

Still good ratings anyway, taking Volvo's crown for safety away.

    Impressed with the pole video.

Hopefully this gets lots of press so the average person knows about this.

    Well done Tesla.

Sedans usually rate safer because they have lower centers of gravity than the higher riding SUV's.
The higher roofs, while offering easer entry and exit, also increase the roll over risk.

    same here
that said, the IIHS has4 dinged the model X, not giving it 5 stars, all across the board, on all testing aspects. I've already read a few magazine articles that like to put more drama on that then is really necessary.
