Hat tip to @oneday

September '18 USA

S13E1h9.png

Tesla now moved into 4th from 5th position last month in terms of sheer numbers and the highest revenue car bar none last month as well. And I only see this getting better in the future as manufacturing continues to speed up and Tesla starts going after the european market and standard range model 3's.

The biggest present unknown is margins which we will get better idea in q3 CC. Even if that is low at the moment, I believe there is a lot of headroom for improvement in that area and Tesla is making the right moves to get there. Now if only the greater public could see the signal through noise. So much noise these days.

No Tesla Service Center nor Gallery in about 1/3 of US population? Think that is about right?
So perhaps another 1/3 pent up demand?
WAAAAY off. Tesla Service Centers cover about 150 million people; the US population is 325 million, so it's actually less than 1/2 the population who are covered right now. Though many of us are buying even though we're outside the real service area, so I think it would be fair to say that Tesla can double it's potential audience.

Smart car would seem a MSRP problem (Mercedes management could fix).
OR dealerships are successfully up selling? (dealerships don't really want to fix?)

interesting.
thanks @RobStark

The Smart Brand Is About to Get a Bunch Smaller in America

When Smart switched to all BEV in August 2017 most Mercedes dealers dropped Smart.

Smart only has 27 dealers in America, as of August 2017.

Mercedes has a battery cell procurement problem, they can't get them cheap enough to sell Smart EV at a profit.

And they don't want to sell at a loss.

Penske ? Didn't Penske make a distribution deal with Merc or tried and deal fell through? Was it the SMART ?
SMART on 4th generation electric. 3rd generation was Tesla 2011-14 which helped save Tesla.

So Merc e-SMART fails??

Trolls will now tells us Tesla should hire ex-Merc exec. Who will do a much better job than Elon, right? </sarcasm>
