US Navy restarts nuclear fusion research?

    I hope this is not a false alarm. There have already been two previous rumors similar to this which were shot down.

    Two? I only know of navy resuming original program and California State.

    Isn't this actually the first one? IIRC it was said that they would renew the original funding plan for this fiscal year. No additional funds were granted.

    As far as I can tell, this is not a repeat of the first US Navy rumor. This is an all-new US Navy rumor. :)

    Now they are talking about hiring new people, paying for a new test reactor, and potentially following with a demonstration power plant. None of that has been floated before.
