I was wondering if you could park behind another 4 door car in the driveway and plug in the charger if the charger was on the face of the garage wall and the Tesla was reversed right behind the first vehicle. I’ve measured the length of the wall to where the charger port would be and it’s about 17.5 feet in a straight line. Could you have the cable pulled tight from the wall and not droop on the ground? It seems like this common situation could be avoided by making the cable just a fraction longer. Can anyone measure the total length of the 18’ model to see it end to end is even slightly longer than 18’?
You are going to get way less than 17.5 feet diagonal, more like 13-15. If this is your situation, you will need to mount the wall charger on a post (like a mailbox) and dig a short 10 foot trench for the underground wire.
