I just ran across this device: Info: Automatica Mk2 keeps your car synced with your online music collection - SlashGear Buy at: Automatica Basically, it looks like a USB stick that syncs via wifi to update its contents (eg podcasts, new music, etc) -- it costs $150 USD, and you have to find a constant on power source (similar to how others have the dashcams installed), but this looks intriguing. It might be a good way for people to store high quality files plus have syncing podcasts, etc (it syncs to dropbox and other cloud services). Not sure how well it works in the MS, but since it acts just like a USB stick, I'd imagine it will be fine. What do others think of this? I know you could just use your phone via BT, but I'd imagine this offers better quality. (BTW I have no affiliation with this -- just looks neat).
It looks compelling, the only issue I have with it is that it relies on their web service and not a stand alone client app. This means that if they go out of business you have an expensive USB stick.
Exactly my concern. I emailed them and they say that stand alone operation is a planned future update. I'll watch for this and likely jump once they do that. - Steve
