One of the apps in the Model S is the web browser. When I access it and type in a url it is unable to go to that page. I have an internet connection in the car because the car is updated when needed and it the Spotify, iTunes and Tune In apps all work, accessing the internet. Has anyone got any ideas? Does anyone use the browser?
The browser is built on old code and running on an underpowered chipset. It's not very useful at all.
So does the browser work at all? I can't get it to load anything including google which should be one of the most useful sites.
There was a problem now fixed in version 2018.24.1 where the browser was blank after the car slept. Search the forums for more.
Agree with @Derek Kessler Also, it doesn’t have my bookmarks, password keeper, etc. I stick to the phone.
I feel like 'Whats the point?" about a lot of these Tesla "features." The concept of a web browser sounds great but then in practice it doesn't work AT ALL. If you're going to do it - do it well. Why all this crappy stuff that doesn't work? Is it just for show? Seems like it's just to seem cool during a test drive and then when you go try to use the stuff it just doesn't work.
With the browser, I'd even take "If you're going to do it - do it mediocre". That would be a HUGE improvement.
