get the 85, when that battery fails (within tesla warranty) you get upgraded to a 90 battery for free.

Is that a guaranteed upgrade if the 85 battery does fail?

I can't tell you how many times during the winter I've cruised into a Supercharger running on fumes with my 90D...

What is this "running on fumes" thing you talk about? Haha, someday our kids won't even know what that term means!

But seriously, I bought my pre-refresh 2016 90D 3 weeks ago. My advice is this. Don't put off buying a Tesla - MS 75D, 90D, or 3. Once you get one, you will be kicking yourself for not having one earlier. They are all amazing - it's like going from a flip phone to an iphone.

Don't get me wrong, 3 weeks later I still agonize over whether I should have got a new Standard Range S, Long Range 3, 75D, post-refresh 90D, or super splurged for a 2019 LR S, or an X, or like every single version they make of everything. The thing is, I'm so stoked about what I have, it doesn't matter. They are fantastic no matter what you decide.
