So after day 2 of waiting for both my SA and DA to call me, I decided to call the delivery center where I would be picking up the car - and they were very helpful!

They told me that my car just came in that it will be ready to pick up on Friday! I gave them my updated pay-off info and should get an updated MVPA tonight/tomorrow.

It really would go a long way if the advisors were better at communicating and relaying info. Even just a one line reply to an email makes a big difference.

Here's hoping all goes well for Friday!

That is awesome. I can’t wait to see the picture. I couldn’t agree with you more on the communication. Even an email saying I don’t know anything but I am trying works.

Saxgod- hope your delivery goes well I am supposed to get my S 85D tomorrow too. Initial review it has some scratches on bumper but Tesla will pay to have it replaced when they get the part in three months.
Wow! Did you have to fight for them to do that or were the scratches not visible in the pictures? On mine I am wondering what they are going to do on some of the blacked out parts. The rear TESLA is blacked out but you can see the vinyl or plastidip is peeling pretty badly, the same for the rear air foil under the bumper.

The delivery specialist notated it before I funded the loan and said they will take care of it. IMHO I would get it in an email stating they will fix it as well as hand written on a piece of paper before you take delivery.

Update time:

Not long from now my Sales Advisor called me saying that Tesla was not going to be able to deliver my car tomorrow anymore (yesterday he sent me an email confirming my delivery for the third time). Because I have airplane tickets and hotel reservations (flying from Florida to New Jersey to pick up the car) I said that it was impossible to change any of that. Told him that it would be impossible to get a refund or to reallocate the dates for my air ticket and hotel reservations.

Still, he insisted in booking other delivery day for me, and I suggested next Wednesday. Then I asked him if I could still drop my trade in car tomorrow at Orlando, as previously planed, and he said no. He said my best options were to drive my trade in car all the way to New Jersey or sell it to CarMax.

At this time I was giving up on my car for the weekend, on my trip to New York, on my trade in at Orlando and also some money for the air ticket and hotel reservation (also my brother in law is flying with me, so add a double counter to that). Then, I talked him down to at least try to maintain the ETA for tomorrow. He said he was going to give New Jersey a call and call me back.

Honestly, I don’t know if any of you guys could get refunded by Tesla for a lost ticket or hotel reservation, and I also had no idea how to claim those.

As soon as I was about to explode, my SA called me back saying that they were going to super expedite my case and that I could pick up my car tomorrow as planed.

At this point, I just hope that nobody tells me “well we don’t see your name here in this list and your car is not here” when I arrive at NJ. At this point, anything is possible.

I will only believe it when I drive my Tesla out of NJ.

I find it funny that DA or SA STILL has not responded to my emails. I needed to get an updated MVPA so I was on the phone with the 800 number and this guy is chatting with my DA relaying my questions to him.

At this point i really don't care anymore - just give me my damn car! lol

Gave Austin a call to see how things were coming with our car. They received it Tuesday afternoon. The guy I talked to said he would go check for me and I mentioned that I was hoping for a Saturday delivery. He then got a little confused thinking I said I already had a Saturday delivery date and then went on to explain how just this week Tesla has stopped any sort of Saturday delivery (at least at Austin SC). I told him that was fine Friday would work even better and he laughed as he put me on hold. When he got back he said the team was still working on my car and that Friday most likely wasn't going to happen but we would keep our options open. According to him there is an extensive list of things to go through and replace before they wanted to hand the car over and personally I am fine with that if its true. Unfortunately Monday is Memorial Day and by bet is the SC is going to be closed further pushing my delivery. He did say they would drive the car and meet us half way but my wife wasn't too excited about that. Besides not wanting someone driving her car she also wants the genuine Tesla delivery experience. lol

The used car buying process sucks a** to say the least it’s horrible. I feel bad for all the service centers that deal with the end user. With the lack of communication and long wait they set themselves up for some upset buyers. They would be better off moving the used car process to Carvana or someone else. I bought my first CPO S in 2017 and it was nothing like buying it now. If Tesla does not change they won’t have buyers simple as that you gotta take care of used and new. In the end it’s us who are the true salesman not Tesla they can’t even deliver a car right.

Got a call yesterday that my car would be ready today for pick up. So I went ahead and funded my loan and signed all the paperwork. Then I started getting texts and phone calls like crazy from Tesla. I got two texts about some new programs from Tesla then a call from Las Vegas about some discounts on a wall charger. I just had to laugh because all throughout the used car buying process of a month it was so difficult to even get a response in a day or two. Let alone know where they shipped my car and the location. Then magically I get all these phone calls and texts. I just had to laugh this will be my last Tesla purchase for a long time I am hoping because this is way more stressful than it needs to be. I will be sure to post pics after pick up.

This is the damage that was done by the shipping company to the bumper it will end up being a full replacement of the bumper and repaint. It's not horrible but wanted to share it.

dang I would have been interested in the discounted wall connector...for now I'm going to use my old Juicebox 40.

Im glad they are replacing that bumper for you. I hate shipping vehicles, no one cares about them like we do...

I am not sure how much of a discount it would have been. Make sure when you take delivery they give you the newer 32amp cord those older first generation ones that charge at 40 amps burn out.
