Hi Folks, Posting this in the local group to get any in person experience. I have put a deposit on a used Model S on the Tesla website. The car is located in Southern California. I would like to fly there and pick up the car and drive back home to Arizona. Are there any tax implications or is this possible. The Sales Advisor on phone said it’s not possible as I have to pay CA taxes rather she suggested I have to ship the car to AZ by paying $2k shipping costs which is a lot or she suggested cancel it and find something local. There is very low inventory locally and get the one with options you need is forever. Any help and advise appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If this is your first Tesla just bite the bullet and get the car. After you have it and are driving it you won't care!
I know someone who put the car on a rental trailer and did not have to pay California sales tax and towed across to Arizona border. They said they avoided California tax that way.
Yes this is my first Tesla. I think i am going to bite the bullet and get it shipped. Service is worse and no proper response, dead emails, not answering my calls. Tomorrow is the pickup and not happening. Probably reschedule or ship it.
Though about that too, seems too much of an effort and with Tesla used car sales support system it might be mission impossible.
