using Android App - got locked out of car

So, I used the app to unlock and start the car at work. Went to a local eating place. Got out and came back to car to leave.
Could not open or connect to the car. Kept trying several times, reset my Galaxy S8 no joy.

Then finally got the doors unlocked, then tried to start the car from the app, no joy.
Looked at the CID, and the damn thing was trying to connect wifi to the CableWiFi.. Which I do not have an account
with that cable wifi. So I guess it would try to connect and time out, then during the time out I was able to connect via 3G.

Then I turned off wifi, and was able to start.

Damn crazy

That's a good tip: When in doubt, turn off wi-fi so the app can use the cellular's signal instead. Thanks!

Yes, so when I do not take the FOB with me, I learned to turn off the wifi.. Not going to happen again.

I believe in redundancy philosophy.

With my X, I make sure I have my

1) cell phone app
2) fob (There are still many places that don't have AT&T cell signals)
3) extra fob battery

With my 3, I make sure I have my

1) cell phone Bluetooth
2) key card

Don't park in an underground parking garage if you don't have your fob. If the car can't connect to AT&T your app is useless. Your phone does not connect directly to the car.

I was in a shopping center with no trees, and in the middle of the lot, no cover.

The app should be considered and emergency backup unless your just at home and using the convenience of the app to not have to grab your fob.
