Using front center console USB-C ports for the USB adapter power

Hi all,

So I got Apple USB 3 lightning to USB adapter to use to view Sentry and dash cam videos in my phone. I am using Cam Viewer for Tesla. Since the adapter needs more power, I tried using the USB C ports in the front console but my phone kept telling me that the device needs more power. But if I use one of the USB C ports at the back of the center console, the adapter works. So does it mean the front USB C ports supply less power than the ones at the back? Is that by design or a flaw I should report to Tesla?

I have just had my Model 3 for 2 weeks now so please bear with me.
