Im on a roadtrip on i5 in CA and OR. Most v2 chargers are 27 or 28 cents per kWh . But the new v3 chargers in red bluff and Williams are 31 cents per kWh

V3 chargers more expensive?

Any thoughts about V3 chargers being a few cents more expensive?
If you head north on I5 from Sacramento, you'll hit alternative V2 and V3 stations
V3: Williams: 31cents
V2: Corning: 27 cents
V3: Red Bluff: 31 cents
V2: Shasta: 27 cents
BTW - I'm super happy to see new I5 superchargers, no matter what the price discrepancy.

Absent a notification from Tesla I'd presume other reasons than it being V3 related per se.
My other thought would be that if Tesla wants to add a surcharge they can go right ahead so far as I am concerned. The demand charges are going to be pretty outrageous.

The thin charging cable at V3 is nice. But I think they're still working out bugs. At both V3 locations I went to last week I had to try multiple stalls to get a good charging rate.
2 potential reasons:
- demand charges on v3 will be higher, so lightly-traveled v3 would have relatively high demand charges v energy charges compared to busy Superchargers
- Tesla would like to nudge people into continuing to use the v2 Superchargers rather than have everybody targeting the v3 Superchargers.

It's interesting to see the placement on I5 north of Sacramento. Corning was always a problem on holidays, but rather than add spaces to Corning, they added two new 8 spot stations, one 60 miles south of Corning (so it's a better fit for SR drivers coming from San Francisco), and one 20 miles north of Corning (I barely made it there, but it was cold and I had a lead foot)
I know those superchargers well. It's unfortunate the number of times I've seen the 4 spot supercharger at the hotel full (so nobody is charging fast), and all 16 spots across the street are empty...
