As a Vancouverite, has anyone considered getting any undercoating for their Tesla 3? If so, where did you get this done? I seen in the forums limited discussion on this... Will this interfere with the sensors or electronics somehow. If it is possible and safe I would get this done for peace of mind...

Picked up my car on Sunday with a 1330H appointment at Powell St. With 90 cars being delivered it was hectic and the process was slow but reasonably orderly. Certainly no worse than for the numerous other times I have bought a car (it is always a hassle to some defgree). The people paying cash had few delays and ripped through the system. |Those of us using financing were held up by back-office problems, some for several hours and I definitely heard some grumbling over that. Once paperwork and insurance (very easy to get insurance there on site) was all done we shuttled out to the PNE grounds to get the car: Silver Metallic ER dual motor 18" Aero wheels, VIN: 106###. The car appears to be 100% perfect with no paint defects or panel gap problems etc. The orientation was fast and well done - it may have been a volunteer but I didn't ask. Gotta say, I like the car a lot. Everyone I have shown it to and let them test drive has been blown away

The bottom pan appears to be all plastic. This being Vancouver I would put this out of mind as a concern.

Wow it was that busy at the delivery center. I was contacted on Thursday last week for end of quarter delivery. Said I was available but they never got back to me. Just said they would message me with a firm date. Headquarters says I have a vin but it doesn't show on my account. Told me to call Vancouver delivery but it's been 2 days of no one picking up and voicemail box is full. The frustration is building.....

I didn't get an actual VIN in my account until after I took delivery.

An update on my car. I took it to the detailer today to get the ceramic applied. He found a few spots where he could see that they had 'corrected' the paint. There were a few spots where they had used a buffer or a wet sand but hadn't polished them out after. A large spot on the top of the fender where they had cleaned it with something that was gritty and a few other spots that needed to be polished. Overall, pretty good considering that they are washing the cars in the parking lot at the PNE. Most car lots wash the cars outdoors on the Wet Coast anyways. He spent a couple of hours polishing the whole car and applied the ceramic to the paint, glass and the wheels. The red looks awesome. VIN 111xxx. The car is awesome in so many ways. Now waiting for Verion 9.0

Just word of caution, there is a time limit of 72 hours on the paint defects according my Vancouver Tesla service agent. So, inspect your car carefully before/after the delivery.

I had couple of areas repainted, and I noticed additional locations of paint defects. I told him that I found more defects and he gave me that statement. I replied and asked for clarification and if they're going to do anything.

What kind of defects should we be looking for besides the obvious scratches?

These are new defects I found after they worked on it. Tail lights seem to be new. I'm angry to myself not checking it really carefully when I got it delivered.

Most of that is overspray or the solution used didn't wipe properly and can be polished out.

Thanks for letting me know. I am planning to get my Tesla ceramic coated (which was delayed several times due to after delivery service). I guess I could ask my detailer to polish it up before coat it (this might cost more money to me). I just don't like how Tesla Service responded and how they didn't notice it while cleaning/waxing it before delivery and after delivery service. I'm still waiting for a response from Tesla.
