Vanity Plates available in Quebec as of July 27th

Read a news article a week or two ago, which stated that Quebec car owners wil be able to get their custom license plates with 2-8 letters/digits at a base price of 250$ and a re-registration of 34$. Just saying this for all of the Québécois looking for a greeny saying on their car. Do it quickly before all the famous ones get chosen!

I don’t exactly remember if these license plates are able to circulate in HOV lanes, which would be the only disadvantage of these. Does anyone have more info?

Does Quebec use Green Plates? I thought you guys had a sticker or something?

Yes, we have green plates. It's useful for:

- HOV lanes
- No toll to pay at toll bridges
- Free ferries (the ones managed by Quebec)

Wow, that's pretty good that it gets free tolls and ferries. Is that set to expire at any time, or is it perpetual?

The ultimate goal of that incitative is to acheive a total of 100k electric cars on Quebec's roads.

Expiration date is December 31st 2020 (or until the fund allow it).

Great news! Unlike some of you in Ontario, the vanity plates on electric cars get access to all the options that the regular green plates have
