Various charging adapters for on the road

I'm planning on taking a few road trips this summer, and some areas of interest don't have any Tesla superchargers nearby. What are the other adapters available for some high speed charging stations? I hear the name chademo come up but are there other that might be faster?

There's also CCS1 and CCS2 adapters, but it should depend on what's available in those areas you want to visit.

Does the Tesla Chademo adapter even work with the Y?

Are there any CCS1 adapters that work reliably through Tesla SW updates?

Yes, the Chademo adapter works with the Y. If you have an old adapter (ours was bought in 2016 when we purchased a used 2013 Model S from Tesla) I'd recommend you send a photo of the serial number to Tesla service to ask if the firmware in the adapter needs to be updated. Tesla said ours was up to date.
