Maybe (hopefully) this model will show up in the US as well. Don't forget we are getting a "Volt" too (the Ampera), so perhaps they see two distinct market segments - the hybrid for primary family car use and this as a second commuter/town car.

    Yes, that would be good.

Competition for the Toyota FT-EV, Mitsubishi MiEV, Smart-ED, Mini-E, Nissan Cube, etc.

Looks like the Bluestar will be late to the party.

I wonder if Auto Express' assumption that this will use the same 16kWh battery is valid? Would they put the "T" part in the front instead of the ICE and the rest along the central tunnel and still get the claimed seating layout? Would 16kWh be enough for 90 miles without 100% DoD?

Maybe. It's not a zero-sum game, though. The more choices for EVs, the more there are out there, the more infrastructure, the more rapid the change.

16kWh would likely not be enough. Expect less than 80 miles.

Though at 16kWh, the iMIEV got around 100 miles in the Japanese cycle, but in most testing it was more like 70 miles.
