Vector Maps??

Wow Tesla need to seriously do something about this. So many roads changed & added in 3 years. Near me whole new suburbs now exist.

AFAIK newest Australia maps in Teslas are Q1 2015 Navigon maps. They haven't been updated since then
Europe has Q1 2017 Navigon maps and finally NA has the new 2018 Tesla maps

Yeah don't forget about the people in the southern hemisphere.
And surely the source of the new maps is not NA only. And could be enabled some time soon!

Just wanted to let people know that I got the maps update tonight without being plugged in or on wifi. I've been out all night since 7pm and just left club 2am and the map update showed as pop up screen.

The maps need about 12 hours to process locally in the vehicle after they're downloaded before they're available and you see the navigation release notes.

Definitely, the voice is much less bossy with the map update.

This might be a silly question, but why is everyone saying that this map update is "Vector Maps"? I thought this was just the updated routing engine and display for turn-by-turn? I see no signs of a car other than the Model 3 using vector maps to render smooth maps on the main screen.

Main screen maps remain unchanged with this update. It's the instrument cluster one that gets the upgrade.

Vector maps got enabled on CID in 2108.18?

Got 18 (previous was 14) on my MCU1 car today and I think vector maps got enabled on CID - am I mistaken? From what I remember, 14 did not have vectors on MCU - zooming and rotating caused map tiles to reload before properly adjusting the street labels. With 18, rotation and zoom properly positions street labels at any angle or zoom. Google maps appears much much smoother than before.

Can anyone confirm or correct?
