Vegan “leather” chipping off

My vegan black “leather” seems to “chip” off, about 1/8 to a 1/4 inch. I had it occur on the back seat and the driver side door near the window. Anyone have this problem and any recommendations for repairing

Black or White seats and did the Gyeon alter the ‘matte’ appearance at all? Wouldn’t want the ‘Old School’ shiny leather look from the 70’s.

Model 3 seats aren’t wearing as well as I thought. Normally synthetic materials like MB Tex and BMW Sensatec have an advantage over leather in durability, but the material Tesla uses is fairly thin. The softness of the seats further compounds the issue.

Are you talking about the soft touch materials on the doors, or the actual seat material? The seats are vinyl, which should be far more durable then a normal synthetic or blended leather.

That stuff is amazing! It's looking more and more like real leather (without all the disadvantages) as it breaks in. Looks great.

It would be helpful if you included how long you have had your car. Any material if not cleaned preserved will eventually degrade, including chipping.

Saw that Taptes (I think it was them) is selling leather seat covers. I’m not a fan of covers, but I hate the vegan seats and they are wearing poorly. Anyone tried them? Do you know they are car seats or does it feel legitimate?
