    can the LTE on the model x be used as a wifi hotspot for other devices in the car?

    My understanding is no; but I have not tried it.

    No, they do not. Why would Tesla let you have free internet to stream video non stop?

    That's what phones are for.

    Chevy will happily charge for hotspot access from their onstar system, just as they will charge you for using it a a mobile phone. In neither case does it make much business sense as an owner. Doesn't anybody who can drive a Tesla have a smartphone that is hotspot capable? In my experience the car does not receive a better signal than my phone does.
