Via Tesla rep- No more Ludicrous upgrade

a few days ago, 10/15
I spoke w/ a Tesla employee and original owner of a Tesla P90D I want to buy.
I asked if he can get the car upgraded to Ludicrous prior to my buying,
he checked and said "all ludicrous upgrades have ended"

WTH?

and maybe this is helpful as well P90DL battery replacement thread.

In short, they may have understood/accepted that ludicrous upgrade is too powerful and frying 90 batteries. They first limited our cars' power via OTA update. After months of discussions and rant, they've accepted their fault and restored the power. At the mean time, there are several P90Ds those needed battery replacements. Seems like they don't want any additional dead P90DL batteries.

Does that apply to early P85Ds? I don't have Ludicrous yet, but may opt for it someday.
