    There are a total of 8 cameras on the vehicle. You only mentioned 5 of then (3-front and 2-side). There are 3 also to handle the rear. From Tesla's website:

    This doubles the number of active cameras from four to eight, enabling full self-driving in almost all circumstances, at what we believe will be a probability of safety at least twice as good as the average human driver.

    3 at the rear view mirror, 2 at the fenders, 2 at the B-pillars and 1 at the trunk = 8

    Possibly the pillar cameras are a bit ugly because they break up the reflectance? Hopefully not.
