It's pretty cool looking. My initial reaction was kind of negative as it isn't as "clean" as the prototype was but after watching the video I think it makes it look more aggressive and sporty.

The only thing I don't like on the Alpha are the mirrors. They look really aerodynamic and "cool" on the prototype but chunky and kind of lame on the Alpha.

I dunno, they look like they might actually be useful. I recently drove a rental with similar-looking mirrors and their field of view was somewhat limited.

Any guesses as to which road they were on? Some place out in Woodside perhaps.

That's the biggest reason I could think of for changing the mirrors, they don't look nearly as cool but are much more usable.

There are regulations about mirror size and shape. The regulations differ from country to country, so you end up with a generic looking large mirror if you want to have one design for global use.

I like the way Tesla evolved the exterior from the prototype. Nothing is radically different, but it does have the hint of the front fascia ofthe Tesla Roadster 2.5

Correct, and personally I like bigger mirrors better (as long as they are in proportion, of course).
