[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tesla shared two videos today of the Model 3 production line that show robots working on various tasks involved in building the vehicle.

The company said that several manufacturing lines for the Model 3, such as drive unit, seat assembly, paint shop and stamping, have demonstrated a manufacturing ability in excess of 1,000 units per week during burst builds of short duration.

Other lines, such as battery pack assembly, body shop welding and final vehicle assembly, have demonstrated burst builds of about 500 units per week and are ramping up quickly. Likewise, cell production at Gigafactory 1 continues to ramp, and current cell production makes it one of the largest battery cell manufacturing facilities in the world.

The build pace would be lightning quick if Aston Martin was doing it. It would be earth shatteringly rapid for Bugatti. But I am not seeing a way these robots doing these tasks can fulfill Tesla's (hoped for) multi-thousand vehicle per week production.

There are 1440 minutes in a day, and robots don't sleep.
1440 x 7 = 10,080 minutes.

If only one set of robot operations were allowed on one car moving down the line at a time, I could see your point. But because they are all running in parallel - once the system is running smoothly - I don't see how it will be an issue.

Right now, "running smoothly" is a big caveat, but it won't remain that way.

Awesome. Thanks! Love to see Tesla come out of this strong. The cars deserve it.

Has there been any talk from the United Robot Workers?

Indeed...... as I can't find a single union complaint in any of those 0's and 1's......as they work 24/7.

We are doing it to ourselves folks.

I think ever since Elon started the business everyone has waited for his solutions to problems, this one is no different, if he says it's possible to get 1000 cars a day in two years, I believe there are many investors who would believe it. Don't forget he has a huge factory with lots of unused space in it, and that was done for expansion. Elon knew when he built that factory in Fremont Cal that he would have to build thousands of cars to meet demand when he got to the Model 3, he's there now and he will expand.
I think if it's possible, Elon will find the way to get it done, Tesla is Elon, and Elon is Tesla, if your a believer like I am since 2010, he won't let us down.
He's the only CEO that I know of that pulled Tesla Motors out of trouble with his own personal cash keeping hundreds of his workers working, instead of laying them off several years ago.
