Definitely taking delivery tomorrow morning!
Ironically, when I brought my new Model S to the Service Center this morning to have performance pedals installed plus a few tweaks, I saw a blue Model 3 literally right in front of my car. Checked the Vin and sure enough, it was ours! I was told that it had just rolled off the truck.
It looked amazing for having just rolled off the truck!

For those paying in cash, after receiving a VIN you can ACH transfer money to them. Can I just show up with a check instead? I don’t want to pay before I can see the car
If you do, it’s highly preferred that you bring a cashier’s check. If you don’t want to surrender the check, you can always hold on to the check or cash it back in to your account.

I’d go this route if you don't want to ACH beforehand. But also keep in mind, you don’t have to accept the car if you find glaring issues. There’s a fair amount of paperwork so they can’t pull a fast one on you.

Now that Tesla has shutdown the Model 3 production for 5 days, will we see stoppage of VIN assignments as well ? I guess so.

Tesla shuts Model 3 production for up to five days: report

The last production shutdown was from Feb. 20 to Feb. 24. Looking at the invite spreadsheet on the VIN chart tab, there is a gap in VIN assignments that starts roughly two days after the 20th (though assignments appeared to have slowed those two days) and resumes three days after production resumed.

If this shut down follows the same pattern, I would expect to see more VIN assignments Tuesday (the 17th) and maybe Wednesday (the 18th) before it going dry until around Monday (the 23rd).

However, the production numbers were significantly higher recently than back in February. There has been some indication that production has been exceeding their delivery capabilities, so VIN deliveries might continue at a lesser rate longer than it did during the last shut down.

I'm planning on writing a personal check. I'll ask my delivery specialist if I ever get a chance to talk to her. She sent me an email the day after my VIN was assigned, telling me to call her. Of course, I had to leave a message. No call back. Sent her an email. No response. Yay.

Good for you, that’s my set up as well.

So my delivery specialist from Las Vegas told me it had to be a cashiers check.
But the delivery specialist in the local service center said a personal check is fine. Although, This will be the third Tesla I have taken delivery on there, so there is quite a bit of familiarity.

She called me last week and said to expect a delivery call sometime this week. Fingers crossed. If I remember, you are also AZ but ordered a week later. Hoping we get delivery sometime this week or early next week!

So, if a VIN was assigned last Friday, is your vehicle likely to be ready to ship or now stuck in the production shut down?
Hard to say. Call your Delivery Specialist.
One thing I learned...
Apparently the Delivery Specialist at your pickup location has more access to accurate information than the Las Vegas Model 3 Delivery Specialist.

That is great news. I hope you get delivery by the end of this week. As I recall, you are bumping up against 8 weeks from configuration date as of Thursday. Let us know what she says about the check.
