VIN Assignment

If you are in the Bay Area and are playing the waiting game, I should just pause refreshing order page! I configured Feb 14th and no VIN.
Configured Feb 1 for a Midnight silver and still waiting! I see folks in the east coast who configured after Feb 1 getting VIN's assigned, so looks like Bay area folks get low priority. I am now kicking myself for applying for a CU loan so far in advance...I lost my low rate now and need to start my loan search all over again!

Also, for those who got VIN's assigned, is your vehicle listed as a 2017 model year or 2018 model year?

Configured 2/7/18. Got my VIN assignment notification by the delivery specialist yesterday. 67XX, midnight sliver, 18" wheels, autopilot. So far, the DS is projecting delivery to the Charlotte / Matthews, NC store around the 24th of March but she said that is fluid and could change. Add 3 to 5 days for dealer prep and I'm looking at 7 weeks from configure to deliver. Maybe.

Idk if it's been mentioned recently on this thread, but to people like @kaushik123 , you'll surely get yours in March but probably at or towards the end. It's been well-known that Tesla prioritizes production of some areas towards the end of the quarter to maximize delivery. If it takes 3 weeks to transport a car to Massachusetts, then they'll make it now so it gets there by the ~30th. And if it takes 3 days for the car to get to your place, they'll make yours on the 27th so you also get it on March 30th.

I agree with this (even though it means I will be waiting even longer). There is no question they want the numbers as high as possible. In Oregon 2/14/18 configured and no VIN. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks (I know others have been waiting longer as well and no VIN).

ok so Vegas I should expect like March 31st delivery, VIN march 30th. hahaha

There are still plenty of us current owners that configured before 2/14 that are still waiting on aero VINs. I reserved 2/4 and still playing the waiting game...

I believe we are still in the "2/14 owners (and earlier) getting VINs for any color with aero wheels" so I'm not waiting for that to start happening I assume that those that ordered before 2/14, will get their config before a 2/14 owner at their same delivery location. I doubt we can say the same but with "across all delivery locations". I'd expect Tesla to try to fulfill all orders for a specific color/wheel-size before shipping to another DC unless a specific DC is at its delivery capacity.

Hoping you get your VIN today!

I check CJ/Troy's spreadsheet once a day. If you sort the data set by VIN assignment date, you can get a quick sense of how close they're getting to your date (and color). It looks like blue and midnight silver are the two colors getting all the recent VIN assignment traffic.
Not only are they producing cars in batches of colors, but in batches of colors AND wheels. If you sort with the predifined filter VIN numbers, in the invite spreadsheet, Model 3 Invites, you will see that high 5000/low 6000 vin numbers are all 19"" wheels, with all different colors in sequence in between, high 6000/low 7000 are all 18"" wheels, with all different colors in sequence in between, and so on..
