VIN Assignment

Wanted to start a thread for those that got invites last week to track when VINs start getting assigned.

I confirmed my order on 11/22 and nothing yet.

An employee who ordered two weeks before the first batch of non-employee invites were sent, got a VIN last week. Delivery is scheduled for this weekend. If the same is true for your orders, then Tesla will only communicate the VIN close to your delivery date. But beyond that, I love the idea of this thread. Little self serving message : make sure to update the Model 3 order spreadsheet : Model 3 invites to configure

yes I had early invite nothing yet.
Tesla rep told me to just keep checking my tesla page

The only relevant quote I can find on Reddit from him, is that he received a VIN. Not when he received a VIN after placing order on configurator.

I ordered around 2 weeks ago. Said 4 weeks at the time.

Now we find out how accurate this all is.

Edit: Hi - I saw a few of you had reminders for this post. Today is + or - a day of four weeks - depending on when Tesla actually received the order. In any case, I was issued a VIN. They hit their mark on time. Delivery should be in the next day or two.

This bodes well for all of you making orders!

Yes, that's unfortunate with Reddit. People can (and do) edit posts and you lose track of what was said what. At the time the I read the original post, he did not yet have a VIN.

From the looks of it based on his posts that I saw, his timeline was:
November 7 -ish - placed order
November 24 -ish - assigned VIN
December 2 - delivered

The spreadsheet was updated and shows that user KarthikNagaraj is reporting VIN #xxx921.

+1. I did not look yesterday but got 16xx when I logged in today.

Ordered Nov 21 but no VIN yet.

I called and the woman told me that a VIN wouldn't be assigned until the car was in the final stages of preparation. She did give me the name of my Delivery Specialist and reiterated that I'd have my car within 4 weeks or configuration. So two weeks left.

Still nothing here. Emailed DS for an update, we'll see.

I still don't have a VIN. I wonder if has to do with color? Maybe silver hasn't been produced yet?

That's what I said. We also ordered silver. Still no VIN here either.
