I'm VIN-less also (config date April 5; Blue, Aero, no EAP, non-owner). I'm doing okay with comms with my DA (due to prior engagements over 2+ years), but I keep them very limited and always with something functional (as opposed to a "where's my car" question).

I did get a response today indicating that since I still have no VIN, it would likely be delivered after June 1st at the International Centre (or whatever it's called), or delivered to Ottawa later (due to availability of trucking services, etc) (but I could apply for rebate as soon as they load it on the truck to Ottawa).

But yes, refreshing 20-30 times a day is getting a bit tough -- but my therapist reminds me that getting the new car is exciting, and I should look forward to it. :)
At least you got a call from Tesla. No calls here.

Yeah -- although I sort of prompted the call with an email and by the fact that I had talked to my DA the day before they got their lists. I'm not sure I would have necessarily got called on that timeline if it weren't for that. However, I think the call is less important than a VIN being assigned. Once a VIN is assigned, the machine has started to try to get your car to you. The call will happen as a result, because they will want to move the vehicle (and collect the revenue and free up the space). No VIN on the other hand, means that the machine hasn't started for you yet (unless you get lucky and pick up a VIN that someone else "abandons").

Just as a reference for others....

Wife stood in line for reservation in ATL.
Got invite on 4/6 via email. Configured 4/7. Blue, 18, EAP
First saw VIN May 4
Got email about finalizing loan on May 7, loan approved May 8
May 9, got option for delivery date from Delivery Specialist
Car still in Fremont
+ or - June 4, go to delivery center.

The goal line is in sight, but still waiting.

At no time did I get a call, just email. Make sure to check the Junk mail folders and allow @Tesla.com

Good luck and may the force be with you.
On the other hand, my wife got something on the flame thrower today....

I decided to call today and see if I could get any information but he really wasn't helpful. Just mentioned that he currently doesn't see a VIN assigned to me. He mentioned cars normally get VINs assigned in the 4th week or so but with the recent 5 day shut down everyone was shifted a week back and I mentioned that I was well past 6 weeks now. He didnt' really understand it. Then I mentioned how there's already a few dozen cars sitting here a few minutes from my house but they're all AERO. I asked him if there was a delay on 19 inch tires. He said tires could always be swapped out so no. He wasn't helpful really. I bet he's exhausted from fielding calls all day. Back to the waiting game I guess.

How long does it take to build Model 3 and then ship it? I’m at 6 weeks since configuration so is it conceivable that they could build mine in 3 days, ship it and still make 8 weeks?

I used to work in dozens of different automotive plants (including Nummi, now Tesla’s plant), but I forget exactly how long end to end a car takes usually. My best educated guess is about 2 to 3 days including body, paint, trim and inspection.

I would say it’s possible but unlikely you would hit your 8 weeks once you take transport and delivery into account.

Maybe there is one already built or in transit though that will go to you or me????

Not likely. I know it is possible for them to do it in 32 days while shipping it by train which is slower than truck. That’s how long it took to order and get my X at the end of 2016. That was quarter end and they were scrambling to maximize deliveries, not unlike now.

Yet another Ottawa VIN-less person (config MAR31/Blue/aero/noeap/nonowner). No news from Montreal, No news from Toronto, No news from HQ. Probably the toughest part is seeing other Ontario (mostly GTA) aero orders configured in April/May getting a VIN. No clue if I have to pick up in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa or delivered home. Don't have a tab/option for delivery location. stuck in silence....

So to cope with this VIN-less period:
- drinking scotch
- crying
- curl in a ball
- reply to this thread

:)

The only thing worse than being VINless is being in aforementioned state while spending 97 dollars to fill up ICE vehicle with gas and, while doing so, TRIP ON THE GAS HOSE, falling off the raised platform and flat onto your face.

Or so I've heard.

I feel your pain... I configured March 27 and see a parking lot of aero wheel cars a few minutes from my house and those configured in April are getting them. (Although I didn't get aero wheels).
