Voice Command Button

Just noticed my voice command button does not work. No response in the IC like before. Any one else have this issue. On software 46.2

Yes I have the same problem on 2018.48.12.1

Telsa has acknowledged the issue; hopefully an upcoming software update will fix it.

Try honking your horn see if it activated voice control

Crazy but yes honking the horn does activate voice command and also when I open the front doors too.

How did you ever realize that?

Unfortunately each time you want to activate you need to hit the horn !
Need a firmware update asap

I read it on another forum. Mine doesn’t activate opening the doors.

Sure seems like it needs to be a software update, what’s even more strange when I called Tesla they are saying it’s the hardware for the button and are sending out a mobile service tech.

Hardware? Cant imagine that; seems software bug for sure. This is what I was told by Telsa.
Oh well; we wait and wait. Still on 48.12.1.

I had the same issue. Honk triggerred Voice Command. Tesla Mobile Service came over and replaced the compoent. Took them 40 mins.

It's the voice command switch, takes 40 min to swap out.

Yep Tesla Service replaced switch..All works fine now!

Hmm... I got this problem before, fixed, now it came back. I don't remember how it was fixed last though. Time to make a service appointment.

Third time my button stopped work, annoying. Almost out of warranty so dodging a bullet on this one, but is there any part numbers or instructions so when this happens again I can fix myself?

I wish, tried a couple times no luck…also same thing the first two times , it’s a hardware issue

I installed the old switch and still the same issue. I am wondering if there is a pinch somewhere that screwed up the brown connector harness and not seeing it.

Every time I get in the voice command comes on. The horn activates the voice command. The issue is the scroll wheel and top switch, the bottom switch works fine.

I will contact the service center for software update that may fix it.

I just replaced my switches myself last month and all worked well until recently. I took the steering wheel off today and replaced the harness and still the same issue. Only thing that will fix it is a new airbag module!!! Whole airbag assembly comes with new switches also. It’s basically the entire center of the steering wheel

I figured out the problem.

The long harness that connects the 2 switches was being pinched.

I have this problem on my 2015 70D and would love any more details you could give about this. Were you able to move the "long harness" out of the way so that it doesn't get pinched? Is your problem still fixed now that a year has passed? Thanks!
