Voice command "No connectivity"

Periodically when I try to use a voice command, I get a "No connectivity" reject. Do voice commands require that phone service is available? It seems that when I am not in cell range that this is when the car doesn't want to listen to me.

Yes it requires a data connection. The actual processing of the speech is done by Tesla's servers. This is the same as Alexa, Google Home, Siri, etc.

I can go from my Y to 3 sitting side by side in my garage and "Open glovebox" works in 3 but not y! Both should have same data connection.

There are voice commands not implemented in the Y that exist on the 3. No idea why this is so.

I have the same response in my 3. I get "no connectivity" with the voice command "navigate" but it works with the voice command "fold mirrors."

I had a similar issue. Tesla Service cleared a cache from the touchscreen and sent a gateway reset over the air that fixed my issue.
