Wait for paint to cure before washing?

For those of us that picked up our cars from the factory at the end of the year (I was 12/31), how long should we wait until we wash the vehicle? I have read that paint is too soft to wash when just out of the factory and can cause damage. However, I have a white model 3 and it is very dusty and I hate driving around in a dirty brand new white Model 3. Especially when its been nothing but sunshine here in the Bay Area.

For most any other car, they normally sit at the factory waiting for pickup, then they are in transit, and lastly, they sit at dealer lots for a while. So the consumer is not likely to be driving a vehicle with a paint job only a week or two old.

I plan take it in for a full detail, but probably can't get to that before the end of the month.
