@Rawlings2019,

That quote is all screwed up.

LR RWD $44,900 (includes AP)
White paint $1,500
White interior $1,000
Showroom adjustment -160.00

Sub Total $47,240

Add Dest Doc fee of $1,200

$48,440

I think you have an advisor who doesn’t know what they are doing. Try to find someone who does.

Based on this article Tesla increases price of all Model 3 variants, even ‘off-the-menu’ base model

I thought AP was on base of LR RWD now but the price went up 1000. So price was 44500 now it's 45500 with AP plus 1500 white ext 1,000 white interior that's 48,000. Add destination and doc that's $49200. They are writing my contract up with regular prices.... Even though they showed me the correct prices online when they sent me the link of the inventory car... The weird thing is the delivery specialist knows this cause he sent me the link and told me 49030 including destination and 170 adjustment....so why 1 week later he's showing me these stupid numbers that are over $2,000 from the price he showed me when I accepted to go with the car....

@Rawlings2019,

My error. LR RWD is $45,900 (with AP). I was off by $1,000. Your numbers are correct. Your salesperson doesn’t know what they are doing. You need to find another one or you will keep wasting your time going back and forth. I’ve been down this road several times. Just ask to speak to a manager.

Should I just pop into the Tesla store and demand this fixed I am supposed to take delivery Wednesday and I need to send contract to lender :/

Yes, I’ve generally found that dealing with the reps face to face is more successful than via email or telephone. They become very distracted. When you are right in front of them they have to focus on your situation rather than thinking about the next three people trying to get their attention. Your deal is very simple. You are buying a base car and adding white paint/interior. Nothing so complicated that it should be getting so confusing for them. The problem is that when Tesla changed the price of the LR RWD model this week they did not effectively communicate it to the reps. So most of them have no idea that anything changed.

The old price was $44,500 without AP. They increased the price by $1,400 to $45,900 to include AP. But this never apparently got communicated to the team so most of them seem to be in the dark. But it’s a very good price so don’t give up. You have a very good deal.

So I'm guessing do they have the power to change the price in the contract or does the system have a set price and maybe he just can't change it...I thought Tesla handled prices systematically so shouldn't it show him the price that I saw online on the inventory listing he sent me...why did the price change once the VIN for matched to me ..that's where I think Tesla needs to be more effective.... If the correct price was on the online listing... Why does it revert back to original prices when the VIN gets attached to my order.... That's what I don't understand and maybe the delivery guy doesn't either :/

@Rawlings2019,

What I’m guessing is happening to you is that the car you have been assigned was built prior to the price change from $44,500 to $45,900. So even though new orders going through their system come up as $45,900, this car is recorded in the system at the old price of $44,500. That is why you are seeing the $3,000 Autopilot line item on the quote. So the sales rep has to manually adjust the price from the prior price when the car was built to the current price that similar cars are now selling for. Tesla’s sales order system is not automated enough to handle this automatically so the reps have to go through a manual process to make the adjustments. It’s not a big deal but the rep you are dealing with apparently doesn’t know how to do this.

That very may well be, I thought that too, but as far as I know they are not custom building LR RWD anymore any being sold now we're last built in April. I don't even think any of those have HW3.

:S I'm a huge admirer of Tesla and Elon I have been waiting for so long to be able to afford this vehicle and this is somewhat of a headache the whole process was so easy and then the part that should be easiest such as marking off the price etc seems to be hard on their part ....

They are definitely still building new LR RWD models. And since you are only getting a $160 discount, if you are not in a rush I would definitely go with a brand new order. You might as well get HW3. You’re only getting a $160 discount for taking a car with V2.5. The only reason to take this one is if you can’t wait for a new one to be built for you.

I changed from my may 8th order of sr+ with FSD for this be ause apparently white on white is taking forever. I have to return my lease June 6th and idk but I doubt a brand new factory built LR RWD white on white may take longer than that :/ I'm not getting fsd at least not now, so am I right to guess I wouldn't notice difference between 2.5 and 3.0 on just AP.

I do plan possibly getting FSD in a year when I get tax credit back and I hit some extra gigs cause I don't want to spend anymore of my savings.

What were your prices on your LR RWD orders?????

I'm having an issue and my delivery is May 22 and I need the right price to reflect for my lender.

I chose to change my order from white on white SR+ with FSD. Total price $49200 to a white on white LR RWD with FSD for 55,030. They said it had a price adjustment of about 170 bucks cause it was showroom car. I asked if I could remove FSD. I was told yes and so the new price would be 6000 off. Which is 49030.

I've got a screenshot of the link my specialist sent me of that vehicle when I chose it. That shows the price 53,830. Which after 1200 dest and doc fee is 55030 and after removing FSD is 49030.

So chose to take that car and everything seem to be going good. I was matched with the VIN, delivery for this Wednesday. Well things got tricky cause they can't seem to get the contract amounts right. At first it showed 57200 for LR RWD with FSD...I told them...woah the price was actually 55030 with destination and with FSD and when removing FSD it's 49030 including destination...so they have been changing it and everytime the price is still off by over 2grand! From what I have read this off menu LR RWD now includes auto pilot with base price and the price went up $1,000. So AP isn't 3,000 anymore it's $1,000 for the LR RWD.

Which is why the webpage link I first got when deciding on this car showed it at 55030 with FSD when removing that it brings it down to 49030. So how do I get them to freaking adjust the price accordingly to what was offered to me!! I am including screenshots of what was offered and what I am being charged!

The first screenshot includes FSD but again if you remove fsd it should be $49030 with AP only ...not the $51040 on the contract that they are giving me now

Currently my contract is showing $51040! Which is $2010 above what I was shown!

You may or may not get a brand new one by June 6th. Only Tesla production planning would know this. And yes white/white is hard to come by. But I do believe they are only building LR RWD custom orders now so it might happen.

You won’t notice any difference today on V2.5 vs V3.0. Some things still don’t work completely on V3.0. If you by FSD down the road you will get V3 anyway so no big deal.

Your biggest downside is if you choose not to ever buy FSD. If Tesla further enhances other features in the car that require HW3 you will be excluded from them. People on this forum will tell you that HW3 only matters if you have FSD. I don’t agree with that, but that’s just my opinion.

Elon has said FSD will be increasing in price over time..but I really don't see how it can go above 6,000 and 8,000 after delivery that's just way too steep..at least in the next 2-3 years since it's not really fully full self driving.... Think it'll be offered for after delivery for 5-7k again? As of now it's 8k after delivery

Personally I wouldn’t pay more than $2K for FSD, and even then I’d have to think about it. I don’t find it terribly useful in its current state and even if it gets better I’m not sure how important it is to me to have my car drive me around. Maybe when I get old enough to where I can’t drive safely I will see the benefit. But by then I bet it will be standard in all cars anyway.

Do you know of any product that is cheap when it is novel and more expensive when it becomes a commodity? It’s a marketing tactic. It will be cheaper in the future when most cars offer similar capabilities.
