Waking up IC on bench without MCU

You should be able to factory reset without problems connect cluster while doing that may factory reset cluster

Well it might but I don't think the cluster will be affected as the firmware is the problem and not settings or something. ANYWAY I'll most likely try that later

But normally a factory restart wipes the disk and reinstalls the software back on ig

I think you can do a redeploy of a specific unit, for example just the IC with a special command commenting out the rest of the modules in the "car". I will look into it for you.
What MCU & IC version do you have? Also, yes, you can do a factory reset to erase all data from the previous owner. No problems.

Currently running v8.1. I will have to look when I get home which exact build but something with 2018 I believe

you can redeploy firmware by going into service mode. hold down the "model S" in the "service" menu page and then when the dialog box pops up type "service". should go into service mode and one of the options will be "redeploy firmware".

Is there anyway to do it without service mode because when we go into service mode the option isn't there we are on version 8.1

I heard and read it multiple times that you can activate dev mode and then thr diag port should be open. Telnet into there and I should be able to execute a command to redeploy. For some reason the diag port seems to not open nor can I activate Factory mode. (Grayed out option)
Idk where or what I messed up
