I think it is the same specification cable that quickcharge power uses:
J1772 Cable
That would be 2 x 12awg in parallel
According to Wire Combination Calculator that would be equivalent of 9awg

I think he's asking about the HPWC, which is an 80 amp cord, not 40. Although, Tony at Quick Charge Power would know since they have done the Jwall with 80 amp J1772 also.
