Wall connector V3 slowing down

Issue with my new V3 wall connector charging a new Model Y in a garage in warm south Florida. As the charging process winds down the amps and miles per hour gets lower while charging to 80%. The green lights in the WC changes to the top light in the sequence changes to RED. . I read that it is due to heat so I felt the charging cable and it is warm but not hot. Question is should I be concerned with the lower charging output and the RED light?
Thanks for any input...

A few of us are taking some temps and readings in this thread: Gen 3 cord 23 degree temp rise in 10 minutes :(

it looks like mine is spitting out the red blinking light for overheating at 110 deg F. Took about 75 minutes of charging before it crapped out.
Good to know, thanks. How did you get the temperature? Only thing I have is a surface temperature thermometer. Like the kind you use on your forehead. Is this something that we should be concerned over?

I'm using an inexpensive IR non-contact thermometer from Nubee.

Obviously it's not good that we're not able to charge at 48A. Secondly, higher temps for electronics aren't good. Something isn't right but we're leaning towards a bad batch since others aren't reporting issues.

Thanks for the heads up. Are you taking the temp reading on the cord near the plug?

Red lights are no good. You need to call Tesla and get your replacement mailed to you (or whatever solution they provide).

Sure, you could lower your charging speed, but since you don't know what is wrong with it you can't know if that is enough of a solution.

I have a mobile appointment on July 31st m,aybe I can add this issue on to that work order?
Also, I was charging at 40/40amps and 37mph.
I only have a 6/2 romex and 50amp breaker. This was the first time I charged for a longer time so probably that's why the temperature got higher.
