Wall connector won’t release charge handle

Just had Tesla wall connector installed and it was working fine but tonight went to pull the charge handle out of the wall connector and it won’t release. Anyone had this issue?

Charge handle stuck in the side of the wall connector? If so, nothing electro-mechanical there. Just held in by the angle and a catch.

It feels like it’s locked and just won’t release - I’ve tried to tug on it and pull it out and it started to flash 3 red lights so I turned the breakers off and on and then it’s fine back to green but it still won’t release the charge handle

Try ‘unlock charge port’ from the app

Once you hear a thunk, you should be able to remove the connector

Does the wall charger connect to the app? (Sorry I’m fairly new, just got my Tesla Y a few weeks ago) The connector is stuck in the wall charge itself and not the car.

Dumb question - but is your car unlocked when you try to remove the handle? I made this mistake a couple of times when I first got the car.

Unfortunately it’s not in the car - it’s stuck in the wall charger itself.

Have you tried lifting the handle before pulling it out? There's nothing holding it in besides gravity. Otherwise you might have some sort of defect that caused it to be stuck. But if you can lift the handle easily you should be able to pull it out.

Yes! I tried that as well and nothing. I am able to wiggle it around, push up and pull but it just won’t release.

That's strange. Maybe schedule mobile service to look at it and see if they can figure it out. Or else Tesla can replace it under warranty.

Now I get it - sorry, I thought you meant it was in the car’s charging port

Is it installed outside? Could a jealous neighbour have glued it in somehow?

Other that that, there really isn’t anything in the receptacle that should be able to hold it in

Tesla branded wall connector? Gen3?

Tugging it and causing lights to flash would be incredibly odd. Unless I’m missing something.

All I can say is that I had a similiar issue that was simply resolved by lifting the cord upward at the handle.

Unfortunately it’s not in the car - it’s stuck in the wall charger itself.

It's just a notch inside you lift the handle up to release it from the notch as @lgibson said. The handle is only held on with gravity and the weight on the cable end it's not electronic. You can see the little square notch on the ones that you print.
