Hi
Just joined the forum
Thank you for having me
Just ordered my first Tesla (model 3 LR)
Been trying to review the most appropriate wall charger
Obviously fancy the Tesla Gen 3 (if it’s even available)
But it seems that maybe a Zappi or Ohme might be more sensible because of the ‘smart’ factor and the no need for Pen Fault protection
Any advice?
Thanks again
Ps sorry if I’ve posted this twice in the same place

see here for some good reasons (from a specialist installer) on why not to get the tesla charger

personally have opted for the hypervolt, great features and not that ugly

I've got the Ohme Home charger and it's very simple to use. Integrated with Octopus Go tariff, I just plug it in and it only charges in the overnight window. Mine was installed by Smart Home Charge who I can highly recommend for a simple process and professional and tidy installation.

Replying to myself here, but looks like the gen 3 fixes a lot of the safety concerns raised previously, every day‘s a school day and all that

Ultimately they will all charge your car, so barring a few features I think its mostly down to your own tastes.

I have the EO Smart Home, the app is hot garbage, like TERRIBLE, but once its setup you can forget about it.

The charger itself however is super compact and discreet, which is what I was told I wanted (thanks wife)

It certainly is, I'm surprised they're okay to have released it, it's that bad. I'd be embarrassed if I was them.

At least, as you say, once it's set up, it works. That said, I've had a couple of times where it's failed to charge overnight, leaving me with a bit of a problem in the morning. I've had to reboot the hub to get it to work again.

Yeah to be fair I forgot to mention that mine has done that as well, but so far, ONLY if I change anything in the app. So I've always put it down to the app being rubbish.

Like if I want to change my charger from only off peak to 24/7 (if I'm going on a trip) , then it generally means a reboot of the hub.
