Want Solar to take off in your State?

Here in California, the NEM 3 debates are now raging in earnest. Solar advocates and Solar providers saying the new rules and taxes are too much, the big 3 power providers saying its too little. All this mediated by the State CPUC whose leadership is appointed by the Governor, and thus beholden to the desires of that person.

If we really want Solar to take off in California, there needs to be a new law that PROHIBITS campaign contributions in any form by a power utility to the Governor. Last year PG&E gave Governor Newsome’s campaign $800,000, because, y’know they’re just nice. Total BS. Newsome says about all the taxes and restrictions PG&E wants to levy on Solar that it’s “up to the CPUC” that he has no influence or say, but he APPOINTED them! They owe him! Why do politicians just assume everyone has no clue how the system works?!

I bet if all political influence by the power providers was lost, Solar would take off like a rocket! A Falcon 9 Heavy, rocket.

end rant 😖
