Want to install new Gen 2 HPWC. Top/bottom mount needed for over 60a?

I’m going to install a gen 2 hpwc on a 90a breaker. The installation video from tesla mentioned that 60a and above needs the extra mount. It doesn’t say this anywhere in the manual.

I want to use the low profile mount-
Have any of you used the low profile mount to install 3awg? I spoke with tesla support and they told me the only issue is the 90deg turn for 3awg. But it’s only a “recommendation”.

I would really like to use the low profile mount.

Let me know what u guys think!

Thanks in advance!

Are you installing it yourself? If so, I would just plan to install both ways, try the way you mentioned above if it doesn't work then you really have no choice. I installed my HPWC with 4 awg wire coming up from the bottom, I will say with 3 awg wire I would come from the bottom not the top. Having the wire make that turn inside the connector to get everything plugged in is going to be challenging.

If you use wire in conduit (THHN), you can use 4 gauge individual wires, and it will be a little easier to bend. i used the top mount, and i think it would be tricky to make the turn with the low profile bracket.
