Was planning on leasing a M3, then getting an e-mini

Current car is a 2006 Cooper S. The Model S was too big, even the Model 3 is too big so I planned on getting rid of the Model 3 when the new e-Mini cam out in 20019, 20020. No way after looking at it. Why does BMW and others have to make electric cars look strange? http://jalopnik.com/the-2017-mini-electric-concept-is-a-confusing-approach-1798560808
You are right about the too big Model 3. Wait for something smaller and better, but hopefully not as ugly as your Cooper.

The supercharger network is the must-have accessory for any electric car.
The Mini looks good, the new Leaf will be great, even the Bolt is OK, but without an easy, reliable, ubiquitous charging network it's all too much hassle.

I also currently own a Mini, which will be replaced by the Model 3. It will be interesting to see if BMW can get competitive EV range with the new Mini E. If they just transplant the i3 battery, then probably not. Then there is the fast charging network problem...

This is just due to it being a concept. Concept cars need weird colors and quirks to stand out in a crowd of new cars. So car show concepts are usually a bit over the top. This will be toned down once it makes it into production.

i8 as a production vehicle.

The electric Mini will probably look a lot more like any other Mini.
