Washed my 2022 model x key fob…HELP!?!?

I wash my 2022 model X key fob is it ruined or can it be repaired?

I washed my fob. Took out battery, took ot apart, let it dry. Put in a new battery and it was fine.

I may have dumped isopropyl alcohol on it, don’t remember.

Others have not been so lucky.

This advice is offered without warranty. Proceed at your own risk. If by “washed” you mean it got wet, just let it dry. Try to warm it up a TINY AMOUNT by placing on top of something that generates a LITTLE heat. Let it sit for at least a day maybe 2. If it came in contact with detergent, REMOVE THE BATTERY and rinse it thoroughly with water or 90%+ alcohol. Let sit. This is what I would, not saying it’s what YOU should do. I used to clean very sophisticated circuit board this way.

I washed my model S be keyfob 4 times. I dried it in the dryer twice. It had a silicone sleeve and worked fine for 6 years. I have no experience with the latest fob on how it would fare unprotected.

2017 S fob, washed twice now. Still works although the latest wash seems to have killed the battery lol. Like others have said, pop it open and let it dry for a few days. Best of luck!

I washed my Model S key fob 5-6 times. The first time I was freaked out, pulled the battery and out it in ride. The second time before I did that it thought I’d try it and it worked fine. Times 3 through whatever I didn’t even care. It always worked great.
