Hi, I've seen a video showcasing a new app for Apple Watch called Watchla. I haven't seen much discussion about it. Anyone use it? How safe is it to use given that it will have access to my car?

As safe (or not safe, given your perspective) as any other app etc you create a token and give to.

That post is very out of date. Software/Hardware engineer here as well (over 25 years). All services now have to use the Tesla authentication system that authenticates at Tesla’s website when using 2-factor authentication. Setup 2 factor authentication for your Tesla account (its easy and frankly everyone should do it) and whatever app/service you use will only ever get an oauth token which has an expiry and needs to be constantly refreshed to work.

That post was made before tesla implemented 2 factor authentication, sure, but anything that uses a token can do anything you do with your token, right? (start your car, open your door, etc etc).

Does this watch app require the Tesla app to be on all the time? If so, won't there be too much battery drain? That may be ok while charging at home but parked elsewhere and not plugged in?
