Has anyone replaced a set of the OEM Michelins due to wear (i.e. not because you just wanted something else) yet? If so, how many miles did you get out of them, and under what macro level driving conditions?
Just got our MS so I can't tell you the wear time on this car, but we had the same tire on our old Mercedes and it lasted around 40K miles if I remember correctly.
Got about 25k from my first set. I'm almost 25k into the second set and have a little less than 4/32 left, so these will last me a bit more, but not much. I'm guessing they'll last about 30k or so.
I have ~38,000 on my pair on the front , - I already replaced the rear -- the tech told me I may have set a record....(my wife drives the white P85 like Ms. Daisy). I only made it 8000 miles on the rears in the P85+ on 21's...
I got 49,000 out of a set on my P85, still had a Little (not much) left. Freeway commute. Smooth driving (291wh/mi lifetime avg) 45 psi, rotate every 6,000
At 40,000 km (25kmiles) I was measured at 6-7/32 both front and rear. Should get me to 50,000 km /32k miles. Guess maybe I goose it a bit more than drrex1 (187 Wh/km or 300 per mile since new).
Did Tesla use MXV4 tires before the MXM4? Mine came with MXM4, which appear to be rated for slightly lower tread life at 45k miles compared to the MXV4 which are 60k (I think)
