I have really thought of such a thing for the Roadster. Someday I may try to drive and charge at the same time. If I were to tow a 10 KW generator I could drive all day. The 200 mile range and no help at any super chargers make taking the Roadster on a trip a real pain.

I think that would require defeating all sorts of interlocks. I know the roadster won't move when it's plugged in. I bet the Volt has something similar.

Small generators are gas hogs. Sort of defeats the GREEN.

The Volt will not allow you to drive it while it is plugged in.
